Over the long weekend, we finally had a chance to catch up on all of the new summer blockbuster flicks, and in honor of the most bombastic and insane Trekkie film EVER, Star Trek: Into Darkness, we rounded up a few of our favorite femmes from the series. It’s not really a long weekend without a few too many visits to IMDB and Wikipedia, right?

Kate Mulgrew was excellent at playing the very Katherine Hepburn-esque Captain Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager—few women have as much serious gravitas as her. Our favorite (yet controversial) Janeway moments? Brokering an alliance with the Borg. And, you know, frequently breaking the prime directive.
