The Goods: Vintage Globe

There are a few things every man should have, or aspire to have. We’re not talking about a 60-inch flat screen or kegerator in the bedroom. (We assume you already have those.) These are well-chosen goods that will last you until your golden years. First up: a vintage globe. Why? Well, for one thing, it’s useful for locating all those countries you read about in the New York Times. Say you’re caught in dinner party conversation and you can’t for the life of you remember which countries make up Scandinavia. Just amble over to your globe to refresh your memory. It makes your living room look instantly more academic. Plus, there’s nothing like spinning the globe, picking a random locale, and booking a trip.
