Even with all the crazy grooming news that we scoop each day, we were surprised to hear about this—nail polish for guys. Alphanail, based in Austin, has created an exclusive line of nail armor for Y chromosome holders. The line’s motto? “Designed for men. Worn by warriors.” And boy oh boy, did they ever get warriors to show off their stuff. The campaign’s spokesmodels are kickboxer Nick Gonzalez and martial arts fighter, Roger Huerta.
But perhaps the most fascinating spin on the marketing of the line is Alphanail’s claim that the colors are super nail hardeners:
“Formulated with both Citral and Ginseng to strengthen and invigorate the nails down to the beds, our formula keeps nails harder and healthier. Ask Roger Huerta. He has put AlphaNail to the test for hundreds of battles in the toughest weeks of training camp.
We’re not sure we’re buying this as a happening trend, are you? Would you wear polish that’s marketed to dudes?
