John Heilpern catches up The Big Aristotle, now 40, at Vanity Fair.
Today, he has two degrees—a bachelor’s in general studies and a master’s in business—and is five years into his Ph.D. in leadership and education. “I promised my mother I would go to college and get my degree, but I didn’t have to get the others. I wanted them because I own a lot of businesses and when I have a conversation I want you to understand that—guess what! I have a master’s in business. Don’t look at me like a regular athlete. Don’t talk to me like I don’t understand what’s going on. So now with this Ph.D., I will be Dr. O’Neal. I’m serious about the title, because I’m very serious about respect.”
We’ll add it to Shaq’s already long list of professional titles.
