From the Style Archives: Churchill’s Breakfast of Champions

When Winston Churchill found the breakfast menu unsatisfactory on a transatlantic flight in June 1954, he wrote one himself:
1st Tray. Poached egg, Toast, Jam, Butter, Coffee and milk, Jug of cold milk, Cold Chicken or Meat. 2nd Tray. Grapefruit, Sugar Bowl, Glass orange squash (ice), Whisky soda.
The 80-year-old concluded: “Wash hands, cigar.”
We’re loving the tidbits in Churchill Style: The Art of Being Winston Churchill. Great one to keep on the nightstand or coffee table.
